Sculptor based in California graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Italy

Constanza Di Gregorio, Argentinian and Italian origins, today lives and works in Ojai, California. Graphic Designer and Sculptor, she is graduated in 2013 at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze (Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Italy). 

She asks herself the question of what the Art intends to say. This research leads her to a more intellectual approach, conceptual and emotional: Civilization and Nature. 

Di Gregorio started to give to her sculptures symbolic meanings: organic forms were put in a continuous dialectic relationship with geometric volumes like “Contention”. 

The creative act and mind returns her constantly to Nature, in a poetic travel where the wind leaves his track like “Idyllics”. Shapes are idyllics and serenes, but also tormented, agitated. 

Nothing is static, it takes over space. Matter is alive, it transforms everything like “Cycles”. Cycles of Nature that remove old layers and renew them, just like life itself. 

In “Portal”, the wind leaves its footprints, shaping the stone and transforming it into an entrance to Nature. 

A door to an idyllic garden and/or a forest where thoughts are tormented, like branches that are repeatedly shaken. 

In “Fragment of Nature”, an isolated fragment extracted from Nature becomes a symbol of ruin, like an element altered by the hand of a human.

Numerous studies on human anatomy and personalized portraits were made by the artist. Portraits can be commissioned from several photographs taken of the person, modeled in clay to be later fired in terracotta and/or hand-sculpted in marble.
